A song that you loved but now hate:
I’ve been stalling on this one out of embarrassment. In recent times any song I loved I might get a bit bored of, but turn to hate? No chance. But when I was younger there were a couple of phases where I was listening to stuff I couldn’t face now. When I was about 15 and moody, I listened to a fair bit of Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam which I hastened to give away a couple of years later. But before that, *whisper* I had quite a serious Phil Collins collection.
I would like it on record that I never loved this video. Bloody hell.
(Actually having not heard this for years, it’s not all that bad. As long as I only have to listen to it every few years. And I can stop it before it all gets a bit overwrought.)

So much beauty out there 
I distinctly remember nominating this particular number as my favourite song once as a child! I agree, listening to it now,it doesn’t sound too bad, as a song. Maybe I should do a cover version of it, omitting Eric Clapton and the gospel choir, and see if I can get it to clock in under six minutes. After all, I would quite like it to rain down right now. (It’s a bit humid here in Leeds).

Well, it’s only over 6 minutes because of that horrible “let’s do the show right here!” bobbins at the start. I really can’t get over how awful the video is, pretty sure I’d never seen it before. It’s the faux self-deprecation that grates the most.
If Eric Clapton did offer to play guitar on your version, would you really tell him no? Even if it would be a better song without his fret-wankery…

It just goes to show how much Wonderful Tonight is a Lady in Red song that I guessed that out of all of Clapton’s catalogue.
When I was 13, I liked Wonderful Tonight too – in fact that might have been a better choice because I really can’t bear it now.
